Fourth Generation Computers

After the early 1970’s, fourth generation computers were introduced. Integrated circuits can now be placed onto silicon chips enabling incredibly fast processing speeds. This was the advancement of the microprocessor. Further advancement enabled more complicated use of keyboards, flash drives, and audio/video accessories.

Computers in the present day are capable of hundreds of new functions they were previously unable to execute in the earlier generations.

Intel was responsible for the creation of the microprocessor. Without this invention computers would still be highly inaccessible and too slow to perform the functions we rely on today.
